I have erected a home in which I feel no comfort.
Tranquility eludes me as I walk the halls of this place.
Tiptoeing around the corner to avoid the vile words that spew from mouth and heart.
I have erected a life in which I find no peace.
Pushing through the storms with no guiding light from the shore.
Calming waves wash over me, but the tide brings only spite and hate.
I have erected an existence in which I don’t want to be.
In this place, joy and laughter are behind bars of anger and resentment.
I am prisoner to another who controls and twists good into unrecognizable chaos.
I have erected a lonely place.
I have erected a place of sadness.
I have erected hell.
